This event was implemented in Belgrade by the local partners of the project – The Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality of the Republic of Serbia. It was a workshop with a title: The Concept and Forms of Discrimination. The lecturers were people with extensive experience in practice and this was what meant the most – according to their oral statements and questions at the end of the workshop – to the workshop participants themselves. In the first part of the workshop, the participants – consisting of both migrant representatives and local citizens – were divided into three groups and each had the task of writing a concept about an ideal state, emphasizing those human rights that were particularly important to them. This met with a very fruitful reaction from everyone, and some of the very interesting insights from each group were shared. Based on this, a lecture was created after this working part, which specifically highlighted those rights that the participants identified as important. Of course, 30 basic human rights were also mentioned, but the lecturers specifically referred to those that were emphasized in the workshop part. Also, experiences from the practice of the Office of the Commissioner were shared and certain answers were suggested to specific questions of the participants at the end of the workshop. At the very end, all workshop participants were invited to a cocktail where informal communication continued. Representatives of the migrant population emphasized that they would like to attend the next workshop in the University Library.
