On November 4, The Fifth Local Assembly (LA) was held at the largest private university in Serbia, Singidunum University, at the Faculty of Media and Communications. This LA was specific – as part of the presentation of the project, we invited the famous photographer Marko Risović (who has published in the New York Times, Le Monde etc.). He has been following the migrant crisis in the Balkans and taking photographs for years.
At the beginning, Vasilije Milnović, the Local Project Coordinator, addressed the students and presented the MILAGRO project, as well as the results of the project so far. After that, Mr. Risović gave a lecture to the students about his experiences, through documented photographs. The lecture was followed by questions from very interested students. Mr. Risović’s lecture itself was based on his vast professional experience in documenting the migrant crisis in the Balkans, accompanied by concrete photographs – so the students had many questions about the job itself and the experiences that the job entails, especially with regard to the migrant crisis and the MILAGRO project. In this sense, the LA fully justified its function, as well as expectations.
This LA was attended by 24 students, lecturers, as well as the Local Event Manager of the project, PhD Dragana Stolić, and the professor of photography on whose subject the lecture and LA were held, Dragan Pavlović.
