This event was carried out by the University Library in Belgrade. It was a workshop called:
„Paths to knowledge: empowering through the information“. This workshop is the first in the
series of tasks 4.3 within WP4. The lecturer was Dragana Stolić, a PhD librarian – advisor at the
University Library, with extensive experience in leading workshops with librarians, researchers
and other users. The workshop was assisted by the members of the project team from Belgrade,
technicians Boban Radivojević and Matea Milošević, as well as several volunteers from the
library. The theme of this workshop was twofold: first, to empower users—primarily
migrants—to access reliable information through the Internet and electronic resources; and
second, to equip them with adequate knowledge for this – from basic (email, Word, etc.) to
advanced (database searches and other electronic sources). The aim of the workshop was to
highlight the learning paths and opportunities for preparing individuals for inclusion in the
system. Migrant representatives spent two hours in the Electronic Classroom of the University
Library, emphasizing the importance of the acquired knowledge and expressing their willingness
to come to this workshop again, regardless of the fact that their repeated attendance would not
count towards the project. A joint decision by the library, the project team, and the participating
migrants was that the library would welcome them again, recognizing the importance of the
knowledge they had gained. Throughout the duration of this workshop, in accordance with the
project and the planned activities within WP4, the participants went outside the classroom to
record Video-Pills, all of which will be available on the project website. In them, they
emphasized the importance of such workshops, but also of the entire MILAGRO project. At the
very end, the gathering continued with coffee and refreshments. The participants expressed their
satisfaction with attending the workshop and highlighted the significance of the MILAGRO
project. Next month, the series of these workshops will continue again at the University Library.
