The Local Assembly on September 3, 2024, introduced the project and its initiatives to the representatives of the Utrecht University and of local institutions.
Participating institutions and associations were : Utrecht University/University College Utrecht, Municipality of Utrecht (newcomers integration policy advisor team); Welkom in Utrecht Foundation (they bring refugees who live in Utrecht into contact with people from the region and vice versa, the Online Coaching Center / Online Coaching Academy (trained student-coaches guide students at Utrecht University in their personal development and personal growth); Common Frames (film and media projects with (young) newcomers); University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
The representatives of the associations provided valuable input regarding the initiatives, varying from how to reach the target audience to how to best co-organize activities with all stakeholders.
At the Local Assembly on December 3, 2024, representatives of partner organizations and of Utrecht University provided the project coordinator with feedback on the setup of activities for workshops related to civic education and to storytelling. The participants discussed their responses to guiding questions in small groups, and their written and verbal input has been collected by the coordinator.
Participating institutions and associations were : Utrecht University/University College Utrecht (both staff and students), Welkom in Utrecht Foundation (they bring refugees who live in Utrecht into contact with people from the region and vice versa, the Online Coaching Center (trained student-coaches guide students at Utrecht University in their personal development and personal growth); Common Frames (film and media projects with (young) newcomers); Migrantour Utrecht (they run a responsible tourism initiative co-created and led by people with migration backgrounds), Serve the City (they motivate young people between the ages of 16 and 30 to make a difference in their city by volunteering to help those in Utrecht who need it the most).
