Siena, February 1

On February 1, the ARCI club in Siena hosted a solidarity lunch prepared by a group of Pakistani migrants for 80 people, raising funds to support those still waiting to be placed in reception centers. The event, part of the Milagro Project, aimed to promote community integration and foster solidarity. Pakistani migrants, who had been supported by local organizations, cooked traditional dishes, offering a taste of their culture while helping others. The gathering provided an opportunity to break down barriers, build understanding, and show how shared meals can bring people together – whether they’ve lived in Siena for years or have just arrived. This initiative demonstrated the power of community and the importance of supporting one another in a welcoming society. This was not the first event of this kind. Right before Christmas, the refugee community in Siena gathered at La Magione Church, where they cooked traditional food for the local residents. The event was organized in collaboration with Auser, an Italian volunteer and social promotion association that promotes active aging, social solidarity, and community participation, mainly supporting the elderly.
