Siena, November 21
As part of the Becoming Democratic and Digital Citizens initiative, the first two meetings focused on the reception system for migrants and asylum seekers in Italy, as well as the necessary steps to obtain international protection. These topics are especially important for migrants, who often face daily bureaucratic challenges and need to be fully informed about their rights. The sessions were also valuable for local community members, many of whom are unaware of the procedures and challenges migrants face when seeking protection and integration. The sessions were led by Francis Mathew Mganga, a refugee aid worker and expert in immigration law, human rights, and drug policies in Europe. With a strong commitment to integration projects in local communities, Francis is also the co-founder of the Home 4 The World project, organized by NACU in collaboration with SIS.
